A dozen former National Hockey League players were in attendance at the beautiful Hockley Valley Resort, participating in the inaugural Dale Hawerchuk Golf Classic. Ninety golfers had the chance to tee it up with the hockey legends including: Dale Hawerchuk, Marcel Dionne, Bobby Hull, Peter Mahovolich, Mike Palmateer, Wendel Clark, Rick Vaive, Rick Martin, Pierre Pilote, Jeff Jackson, Gerry Cheevers and Brad Park. Event organizers were thrilled with the event and contributed much of its success to good sponsorship and community support.

Logs Canada contributed to the silent auction with a one-of-a-kind chair with a "to scale" Canada Cup trophy carved into it. This chair was custom designed for the event and was autographed by Hawerchuk himself. Proceeds from the event went to the Alexia Vassos Foundation.
